Pluto

"Pluto" derives inspiration from the roots of our innate fears of a certain set of truths--that we are responsible for our own destiny and events occur outside our control.

In the past, artists like Goya contributed to the tradition of the occult as a manifestation of hysteria. The occult evokes terror inside of us--proof that those exist who wish to do you and your world harm.

"Pluto," named after the Björk song from her album Homogenic that was once paired with these photographs, places the viewer in the voyeuristic position of an onlooker stumbling upon an occult ritual.
